Jazz Band

The UAM Jazz Ensemble is open to all students by audition during the first week of class. The audition will consist of scales (Bb Major, Eb Major, F Major, and C Major) and sight-reading of a jazz piece. The student may play a Bb blues improvisation solo in addition to the above. Students should sign up for an audition time at the Band Building. Instrumentation for the Jazz Ensemble is that of a traditional big band. The ensemble presents on campus performances of traditional jazz forms as well as more popular styles.
